Team Rider - Mitchell Breitfuss
The Blackbird crew are very proud to welcome aboard our latest member to join the team, Mitchell Breitfuss. Mitchell has lived in Perisher Valley his whole life, skiing the mountains since he was two years old.
Cutting his teeth in disciplines including Alpine and Skier Cross, Mitch found a natural affinity with Slopestyle. It wasn't long before he joined the Perisher Development Squad to further push himself during his teen years.
After discovering a deep passion within Slopestyle Skiing, Mitchell has continued to improve over the years, spending every possible moment out in the Perisher Slopestyle Park. He has also spent time in Mammoth Lakes to train with other Slopestyle athletes and seeing just how far they can push each other.
Mitchell is currently studying at University, and hopes to one-day work within the ski industry. When not studying, you'll usually find him hanging around the biggest booters in whatever resort he is skiing that day, looking for more ways to fly. True Blackbird style. And that's just how we like it.
Team Rider - Arkie Elliss
Introducing Arkie Elliss. Starting her skiing life at two years old and growing up literally on a pair of skis has seen Arkie become a formidable young skier.
Building on her natural talent with dedicated programs like the Thredbo Mountain Academy and All Mountain Program, Arkie is well on her way to forging her presence in the skiing world.
With mentors such as Anna Segal and Michelle Parker, it’s no wonder you will find Arkie slaying deep furrows into fresh snow and getting a little ‘sendy’ when the opportunity presents itself. It’s in her blood.
Having cut her teeth on the famous hills, side and backcountry of the Thredbo region, and placing it firmly in her ‘favourites’, Arkie also names Jackson Hole and Mammoth Mountain on the list.
Proclaiming a love of big mountain skiing, fresh powder, moguls and big, fast, sweeping turns you can tell the passion runs deep and Arkie’s appetite for challenge is never satiated. Keeping herself active in the off-season months is taken care of with her other loves of Surfing, Trampoline and Gymnastics. All the hallmarks of someone forged in an active lifestyle and happiest when smothered in it.
Team Rider - Fletcher Thew
Fletcher is one crafty ski teen from Perisher Valley. He’s been skiing ever since he could walk. A very keen freerider, Fletcher has also won regional, state and national medals for various ski racing and snowboarding.
Although he competes in race events, he’d rather just be having fun and riding with his mates. Fletcher loves to hit the parks at Perisher, blasting off man-made booters and any natural hits he can find when hooning around the resort off-piste.
The team are very proud to have Fletcher on board and we can't wait to show you some great images and video of what Fletcher gets up to.
